Caltech Computational Social Science

Welcome to the Computational Social Science lab at Caltech. We combine the data and theory of social science with tools and methods from computer science to generate new insights about the social, political and economic world.

Our research is focused in three methodological areas: applied machine and deep learning; natural language processing and social media research; and survey methodology. The primary social science areas our research covers are political behavior and election integrity, sustainability and climate change, and misinformation and persuasion.
